About the Webmistress
Since I get this question a lot, I thought I’d begin by clarifying that Téa is my real name…and it is most definitely not a name I had adopted from the series, Yu-Gi-Oh! The name is pronounced like Tay-ah, though there’s an ongoing joke with some of my friends, who loves calling me all kinds of tea names like Bubble Ice Tea, Thai Iced Tea, or whatever else. :p I don’t mind being called a drink, but I do so hate it when people mispronounce my name as Tia. There’s an accent on the “e” for a reason, I say!
Like many other webmistresses of an animanga collective, I’m a fairly big fan of anime and manga. But unlike most of them, I’m a tad old in comparison. As of 2006, I am 28 years old…which, I realize, is probably a bit embarrassing to be admitting. I’m often told that I don’t act my age, but I say there’s plenty of time to be old and I’m not in a hurry to start now!
While I have to say that I don’t indulge in animanga as much these days, that’s really more due to the fact that I don’t have as much time rather than lack of interest. Still, I think I’ll always like watching anime and reading manga, because for me, it isn’t really a “fad” or the latest new thing that’s suddenly popping up because more and more series are being licensed and made available to people outside of Asia. In my case, I grew up in countries where they’re very common, so really, animanga has been a part of my life from as far as my brain can recall- which would explain why I often list some very old series whenever I’m asked about my favorites. Series like Cobra, Lupin, Orange Road, Galaxy Express 999, Dr. Slump, Doraemon, Ninja Hatori, etc. will always hold a special place in my heart!
Aside from running this fandom collective, I’m also fairly involved in the online graphic world at my other domain and dabble in icon-making stuff at my LiveJournal. I do graphics and design both online and offline though, as it isn’t just a hobby. It’s also my job so I do this professionally in RL as well.
And that, I’m sure is more than you had wanted to know in the first place!
